Go to Hell...go straight to Hell...& no, you CANNOT pass "GO"

So, let me see if I have this straight. The Republican formula for victory in the 2010 midterm election cycle is to filibuster everything...and then blame Democrats for being irresponsible and out of touch with the American Sheeple? Almost as depressingly Evil is the strategery being employed by Democrats, which seems to rely on forcing Republicans into ideological corners so that the only choice consistent with their beliefs is to filibuster everything. If this doesn't qualify as a world-class "WTF??" moment in our nation's history, I don't know what will.

Here we are, smack in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. Our health care system would shame a Third World dictatorship. We're embroiled in two wars while our infrastructure crumbles around us. We're losing the ability to make things while China has become our lender of choice. AND BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES ARE PRIMARILY CONCERNED WITH HOW TO SCHEME THEIR WAY TO POLITICAL DOMINANCE?

We need leadership. We need solutions. We need action. What do we get? Political gamesmanship of a sort that makes it virtually impossible for anything resembling concrete policy decisions and actions to be taken. Democrat have no balls. Republicans have no ideas. The end result is a functional draw- Eunuchs 0, Hypocrites 0- and no amount of overtime will settle things.

If this seems written in anger, it's because it is. Senators and Congressman don't make six figures and enjoy world-class perks and health care so they can ensure their own continued employment. We didn't send the clowns to Washington in order for them to engage in self-preservation. Not that there aren't competent, conscientious, and committed people in Congress, of course. It's just that they seem to be the silent minority, crowded out and neutered by the careerists and political hacks who seem to care only for their own career prospects.

I have my issues with Barack Obama's performance to date, but the reality is that he could be God His Own Self and he'd still have trouble with this Congress. I may be a Liberal Democrat, but I'm every bit as fed up with Democrats as I am angry at Republicans for their self-interest and obstructionism. You're the MAJORITY party. Lead, follow, or get the Hell out of the way.

WE DESERVE BETTER.
