And yet they'll expound at length about protecting democracy

The TexAgs political message board is probably not the best place to go for nuanced, sophisticated discussion of the day’s issues, unless you think Fox News is fair and balanced. But things can get lively. Like recently, when a poster named dermdoc put up an item headed “Laid off my first Obama voting employee today.”

Anything involving Texas A&M- students or alumni- is not where you’d expect to find even the faintest, barely discernible hint of the evil taint of Liberalism. If there’s a redder campus in this country, I’m not certain where it might be. Unfortunately, this knee-jerk Conservatism- an article of faith (and requirement for membership) in the Aggie community- can be and often is taken to ridiculous (and, in this case, illegal) extremes. So much for the value of a college edumication….

The particular maroon in question would be today’s Worst Person in the World if he wasn’t a coward hiding behind a screen name. That just might be because he knows that firing someone because of their political beliefs is illegal. This inconvenient truth doesn’t seem to faze these Aggies, though, fired up as they are with the righteousness of their cause. To their way of thinking, ALL Lefties should be fired. YAY, DEMOCRACY!! YAY, FREEDOM OF CHOICE!! Or not….

Remember, it’s only a legitimate election when your side (the RIGHT side) wins. Otherwise, it’s just another example of Socialists, Communists, and the Liberal Media Elites controlling the political process and stealing elections by thwarting the will of REAL Americans. In a just world, one run by Aggies, America-hating swine like Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, and Barack Obama would be given a cigarette and a blindfold…and their families would be billed for the bullets used to silence them.

The sad thing is that so many Aggie alums, after their seven years in College Station, seem no smarter than when they enrolled. Then again, that Aggie ring sure is great for getting laid, eh??
