A day to remember than I'm not 25 any more (as if I needed a reminder)

Here it is, mid-May…and here in Oregon the weather here has finally dried out and warmed up…even if only just. To celebrate, I went hiking in the Columbia Gorge near Multnomah Falls yesterday. Two miles up the Wahkeena Falls trail with a 1500’ elevation gain. Kicked. My. Butt. It was worth it, though, if for no other reasons than the weather was nice and it got me out of the gym for a day..

I feel blessed to have such a beautiful place less than an hour away from home. For someone who grew up in a landlocked state as flat as a three-dollar bill, I never cease to marvel at what’s just down the road. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go find a hot tub in which to immerse my aching body. Man, some of my sore spots are muscles that I’d forgotten I even have….
