OK, so today is technically the first day of Summer. Wherever it is that you happen to be, I’m sure it is. Here in my little sliver of Paradise, I’m listening to the rain falling softly outside my window, and I’m luxuriating in Portland’s tropical climate…or at least as tropical as 57 degrees and rainy can feel like. Tomorrow is June 1st, and it’s STILL raining. If memory serves, we’ve had a day or two where the sun shone and the mercury threatened 75 degrees. Other than that, Spring has been one long day after gray, dreary day, each one resembling this morning: damp, leaden, and cold. I have a pair of shorts laid out in my bed in the unrequited hope that it will actually be warm and dry enough for me to wear them. Yeah, right….
The good news is that I’m saving a bunch of money on sunscreen…and my risk of skin cancer is miniscule. Hey, I’m trying to look on the bright side….
I hope that y’all will have a safe, happy (not to mention warm and dry) Memorial Day. Relax, recreate…AND GET OFF THE DAMN COMPUTER!!
And, no, I STILL don’t miss Texas…. ;-)
