Making lemonade out of (oil-soaked) lemons

Sometimes, ya just gotta laugh…if only because the alternative ain’t pretty. I suppose gallows humor is better than no humor at all. In the case of the oil spill off the coast of Louisiana, a cottage industry has sprung from the oily muck, as graphic artists everywhere have offered their redesign of BP’s corporate logo. In fact, so many permutations have been winding their way around da Interweb that Greenpeace has decided to host a contest, and they’ve been kind enough to post all of the entries on Flickr. The good news is that there’s a tremendous amount of creativity out there. The bad news is that none of this impressive creativity is doing anything to plug the leak and clean up the Gulf of Mexico.
