From the "And we care about this...why??" Department

Today’s additions to the category of No Good Can Ever Come of This:

— “Mel Gibson is on the phone.”

— “The Bachelorette is close to selecting the man of her dreams.”

— “Bristol and Levi are back together.”

Ah, young love…. Who among us doesn’t remember our first love? Yes, growing up in meth-drenched Wasilla, AK, home to one of the most self-absorbed and self-interests Conservative zealots in recent memory can’t have been easy. When your choices are selling meth, driving snowmobiles, and/or working in the oil fields…well, you’d be announcing your engagement on the hallowed cover of Us Magazine, too…if anyone actually gave a damn.

Then again, these star-crossed lovers probably deserve one another, because marriage for them is probably as close as these Alaska teenagers will get to a career decision. Bristol Palin, who’s now espousing swearing off sex until marriage (after already having a child out of wedlock…oops), has turned teen pregnancy into a lucrative cottage industry. Levi Johnston, who’s accomplished…well, I’m not sure what, really…has turned his looks and association with the Palins into a spread in Playgirl…and not much else. One has to feel for the poor children growing up in this upscale trailer park train wreck.

For their sake (and that of their child), I wish them the best. To their credit, they’re doing the American thing and wringing their 15 minutes for every dollar they can. Hey, what else are you going to do when you’re young, uneducated, and live in Wasilla, AK? Well, outside of working at Walmart…or starring in your own reality show??

Government IS the problem, so of course Sharron Angle wants to be part of the problem was the previous entry in this blog.

Better to be thought an ignorant Jesus-y wingnut than to sell aluminum siding and remove all doubt is the next entry in this blog.
