OMG!!! WHAT ABOUT OUR POOR, IMPRESSIONABLE CHILDREN!!!

“We think its not right for them to invade the Fourth of July, and we’re trying to warn people that if they do go downtown they may be exposed to some deviant behavior,” Phil Burress, president of Citizens for Community Values. “Everything from sex in the streets to topless women.”…”It bothers me that they’re going downtown on the Fourth of July, and it has nothing to do with the July celebration. Nothing,” Burress said.

If you’re unfortunate enough to be in Cincinnati today, you might want to be careful about how and where you choose to celebrate the Fourth of July. Yes, while your kids are stuffing firecrackers into dead fish and blowing them up on the neighbor’s lawn, Gays and Lesbians might just be having public sex in downtown Cincinnati. Yes, you heard it here first…and inquiring minds want to know the answer to one simple question:

WHO’S GOING TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN???

Never mind that the fact of the matter is that “ninety-five percent of our parade entries are church organizations, student and university groups, political rights groups”. Never mind that “sex in the streets”, if it is indeed a problem, if far more likely to be engaged in by heterosexual couples than Gays and/or Lesbians.

Perhaps the reality is that the haters still have yet to acclimate their fear- and hatred-addled brains to the reality that merchants and others in downtown Cincinnati welcome Gays and Lesbians in the same way they welcome heterosexuals. It seems that the money in the wallets of Gays and Lesbians is every bit as legal tender as the money in the wallets of good, God-fearing, heterosexual Christians. The business of business IS business, and when a business owner discriminates, they’re really only hurting their own bottom line.

Happy Independence Day, y’all; I just hope you’re fortunate enough to not be in Cincinnati. ;-)

BTW…things could be worse. You could be in Seattle…and NOWHERE in America is outdoor sex more prevalent. Hmm…perhaps you should just stay home with the kids this year??
