House Republicans are going forward with plans to introduce a resolution on Tuesday to prohibit the House of Representatives from assembling during the two-month period following the November elections. A GOP leadership aide confirmed to the Huffington Post that the resolution, authored by Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) for the purposes of preventing Democrats from passing legislative items during the lame-duck session, would be introduced before the House passes additional Medicaid and teacher funding…. Price’s resolution appears likely to produce nothing more than Kabuki theater — which that Democrats aren’t necessarily averse to enjoying.
Yessiree, America…we sho’ ‘nuff do have us some real problems, don’t we? Illegal immigration, a Socialist President, and a Democratic majority in Congress that’s bound and determined to shove Big Guv’mint policies down the through of decent, God-fearing White Folks. What’s a good, patriotic Republican to do these days?? Well, if you can’t beat ‘em…how ‘bout just shutting Washington down- lock, stock, and barrel?? That’ll learn ‘em not to take Americans lightly, eh?
And so begins today’s entry in the “WTF??” Files. House Republicans are going to lead by…demanding a paid two-month vacation if they win control of Congress in November. I can’t blame them, I suppose. It does make sense for them to rest up after a long hard racist, propaganda scare fest campaign. If they do win control of Congress, John Boehner’s going to need to spend a LOT of time making tee times. Hey, a man needs to relax. Besides, those three-day Congressional work weeks sure can be taxing, eh?
Will someone…anyone…please remind me just why Republicans think they hold the moral high ground…and what it is that they’re offering besides a rousing rendition of “NO!!!!”? And while you’re at it, remind me again why I should vote Republican when the GOP is offering nothing- no plans, no ideas, no programs- except to shut the government down and give themselves a two-month paid vacation? Please keep in mind to state your answer in the form of a question (“WTF??” is always a good choice)…and be cognizant of the reality that “tax cuts for the wealthy” will get you laughed out of the room.
Go ahead…I’ll wait….
