Breaking news from the People's Dominionist Theocracy of Texas

The Texas State Board of Education today passed a resolution warning textbook publishers to scrub their books of “gross pro-Islamic, anti-Christian” bias. The vote was 7 to 6…. Proponents of the measure, including board members and witnesses, argued that world history textbooks spend too much space discussing Islam, and in too positive a light, when compared with Christianity…. One of the board’s most conservative members, Don McLeroy, who is serving the last months of his term, said textbook publishers have been biased in favor of Islam for years. He argued that “one of the greatest gifts to the world was medieval Christendom,” citing an essay he had written in 2002 titled “The Gift of Medieval Christendom to the World.”

I’m sure glad I no longer live in Texas…’cuz it seems that there are Muslims EVERYWHERE in the Lone State State these days. Thankfully for the good, God-fearing Christian patriots in Texas, SBOE is ever-vigilant about protecting Texas’ precious snowflakes from creeping Islamicization (is that even a word?).

Yes, the patriotic Christians at SBOE recognize the grave threat that Islam poses to the impressionable minds of Texas schoolchildren. I mean, what’s next? Schools requiring that children bring prayer rugs to school? Forcing second-graders to recite the Koran before school every day? Banning pork in school lunch rooms? This is Texas, damnit…and there ain’t no way our children are going to learn no foreign concepts like tolerance or respect for any religion ‘cept Christianity.

Hey, if kids were meant to learn about Islam, there would be mosques in the public schools, knowhutimean? To set matters straight, and to public textbook publishers on notice, SBOE has sent a clear and unequivocal message: Texas is a Christian nation, and you can take your radical, America-hating Islamofascism right back to Mecca, Mohamed.

Go ahead…ask me how much I miss Texas….
