John McCain: liar, hypocrite, and miserable excuse for a human being

Hypocrisy: prejudice with a halo

  • Ambrose Bierce

How about we face facts, y’all; John McCain may once have been a man of honor. However honorable he may once have been, whatever he may once stood for, he clearly is no longer even a shadow of that. In the age where every public utterance is recorded and available on da Interwebs, Sen. McCain seems to neither know nor care that his hypocrisy is available for all to see. On a number of issues (most recently on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell), McCain has deliberately and willfully contradicted his own stated position. It’s crass, it’s craven, and it’s designed purely to enhanced his standing with the GOP’s far Right wing. That his hypocrisy has made him a laughingstock seems to matter not at all to him.

When History passes judgment on McCain and his rank hypocrisy, it’s unlikely that he will ever be described with the word “statesman”. Actually, the word that seems most accurate is “demagogue”. In the final analysis, John McCain is a miserable excuse for a human being- a man devoid of principle, decency, and worst of all, honesty. Even when confronted with the truth, McCain still decides to come down on the side of lies, propaganda, and Right-wing talking points.

And to think that some Americans thought he would make a fine President….
