The #1 threat to humanity: UNBELIEVING BEARS!!!

The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer left us a present in the RSS feed this morning: a pleasant blog post about how WE MUST KILL ALL OF THE BEARS. Fischer takes offense to a report that global warming has tweaked Yellowstone grizzly bears’ food supply, causing some of them to go after humans and get shot in the process. “God makes it clear in Scripture that deaths of people and livestock at the hands of savage beasts is a sign that the land is under a curse. The tragic thing here is that we are bringing this curse upon ourselves.” So Bryan Fischer believes in global warming? Don’t be silly. He believes in the curse of our country’s failing morality and in the curse of NOT SHOOTING DEAD ALL THE BEARS IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW.

I could say that I lay awake at night worrying about the signs of the coming Apocalypse, but I tend to fall asleep very quickly, and I seldom obsess over any impending Apocalypse. Still, it’s good to know that someone out there has my back when it comes to interpreting the signs…even if it is the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer, who’s nothing if not a walking, talking advertisement for Thorazine.

Yes, it seems that Fischer has recognized the reality that the rest of us have studiously ignored: that this planet isn’t big enough for both Grizzlies and humans. That being the case,

If it’s a choice between grizzlies and humans, the grizzlies have to go. And it’s time….

Of course there is a simple answer: shoot these man-eaters on sight.”

God makes it clear in Scripture that deaths of people and livestock at the hands of savage beasts is a sign that the land is under a curse. The tragic thing here is that we are bringing this curse upon ourselves….

Of course, I’ve clearly been naive in not realizing that Grizzlies are agents of the Anti-Christ. Only by shooting them will humanity be safe to continue persecuting non-Christians and bringing them to the glory and love of Jesus Christ. Honestly, though, if Bryan Fischer is to be my salvation, I think I’d rather go with the bears.
