You know you live in the middle of nowhere when....

So, you think it’s easy being a policeman in Montana? You think it’s just coffee, donuts and the occasional elk poacher? Well, actually…yes, it is. Here’s the evidence, from the police blotter of the Flathead Beacon, the voice of Flathead County, MT (via The Oregonian)….

12:08 p.m.: Someone called in to say there were four perfectly good tires and rims on the west side of Flathead Drive.

4:38 a.m.: A horse was standing on Monte Vista Drive.

7:30 a.m.: A woman on Wishert Road called into report she can see five horses in her yard.

9:09 a.m.: A beagle was spotted on Tamarack Meadows.

9:15 a.m.: A Trumble Creek Road resident said he had a herd of cows in his yard.

1:07 p.m.: A parent on White Birch Lane said their 14-year-old son was being sassy and fighting with his sister.

1:32 p.m.: A Whitefish man felt threatened when his sister held the door shut and wouldn’t let him out for 30 minutes.

4:39 p.m.: Someone called in from the Evergreen area worried about the puppies that are usually in the road. The caller said they hadn’t seen the puppies or their mom for a week.

5:28 p.m.: A transient was spotted selling puppies to Evergreen folk.

I’ll alert the media….
