From the mouths of babes....

It’s obvious to anyone who reads a newspaper that America is in desperate need of new pundits. The op-ed, once a hallowed institution of intellectual political thought, has been beseiged by idiots, celebrities, and senile old-guard journalists who are incapable of seeing the world around them or coming up with original ideas. Thus, we turn our eyes to a new generation: Andrew Pendergraft of The Andrew Show, a Web production from WhitePrideTV.com. Andrew is a pint-sized conservative who’s not afraid to actually say he’s racist.

In an historical sense, it’s not at all unusual that difficult times find some folks looking for scapegoats. The idea that we’re all in this together is all well and good, but there are those who feel the need to affix blame…even if placing that blame has no rational explanation or justification. Illegal immigrants are taking our jobs, Muslims are America-hating terrorists, Blacks want to kill us and take our women…etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum. Hatred needs no rationale or coherent raison d’etre; it can flourish in the most seemingly barren soil, and Lord knows this country has a surplus of barren soil these days.

It’s bad enough that adults carry and foster hatred towards those segments of society that they refuse to understand or that they blame for the sorry state of their miserable, pointless existence. What really chaps me is that adults see nothing wrong with poisoning their own children with the hate they carry in their hearts. Children aren’t born hating; hatred is a learned behavior. In order for a child to become a hateful bigot like Andrew Pendergraft, that child is taught to regard other groups or classes of people as evil, as lesser than, as somehow bent on destroying those good, decent Americans who simply value Our Way of Life ©.

In a world where unemployment is hovering around 10%, and with a Black man in the White House and Liberals seemingly ascendant, there’s plenty of frustration and anger to go around. There are two ways one can deal with this: you can work hard and do everything within your power to improve your condition…or you can find someone to blame your condition on. Working hard is, well, hard work; blaming someone is a whole lot easier and the results are visible almost immediately.

Listening to Andrew Pendergraft, I found myself almost physically ill. Andrew didn’t just come up with his hateful, bigoted ideas on his own. Someone taught him to hate, and Andrew learned his lessons well. That there are adults willing to exploit him in support of their own narrow, hateful agenda is absolutely criminal. Andrew Pendergraft deserved to have the opportunity to grow up without being force-fed hatred. What’s he going to be doing as an adult, marching in white hoods? Burning crosses on lawns? Shouldn’t we be better than this? Part of me wishes that parents who teach their children to be hate could be held responsible for poisoning their minds. Honestly; couldn’t one make an argument that this sort of parental malfeasance is child abuse?

WE DESERVE BETTER.
