It was on da Interwebs...so it MUST be true

Kanazawa states that in societies where polygamy is allowed - taking more than one wife, such as in Islam - there is a necessary number of men who are unable to mate because of the simple mathematics involved. He says this is what makes men more violent or aggressive - they are competing for a mate. According to his theory, this increased competitive pressure on men ‘increases the likelihood that young men resort to violent means to gain access to mates because they have little to lose and much to gain by doing so, compared to men who already have wives.’

Every now and again, I run across something on the Internet that’s so mind-numbingly, breathtakingly brain-dead that it almost leaves me speechless. Then again, this is the Internet we’re talking about here; honestly, if they’ll let me on it, they’ll let ANYONE on it, right??

Still, even I find myself recoiling at the thought that a renowned academic who could seriously posit the theory that Islamic suicide bombers are really just frustrated because they can’t get laid.

So…the solution to this problem would be to export more lonely, disillusioned American girls who are looking to get laid to the Middle East, where they’ll find many young men looking for what they have to offer? I’d have thought that the married Muslims would have been the ones looking to get away and blow themselves up for the 72 virgins….

PS…for a real treat, read the comments on this post. Damn; I’m still unclear as to how and why these people are even allowed out in public without being heavily medicated….
