When the truth is what you make up as you go, this is what you get

(thanks to David Flanders)

In modern American politics, being the right kind of ignorant and entertainingly crazy is like having a big right hand in boxing; you’ve always got a puncher’s chance. And Bachmann is exactly the right kind of completely batshit crazy. Not medically crazy, not talking-to-herself-on-the-subway crazy, but grandiose crazy, late-stage Kim Jong-Il crazy — crazy in the sense that she’s living completely inside her own mind, frenetically pacing the hallways of a vast sand castle she’s built in there, unable to meaningfully communicate with the human beings on the other side of the moat, who are all presumed to be enemies.

When a Tea Party Conservative Republican authors one of the most thorough and convincing rejections of generally accepted Conservative economic theory…well, it’s about winning, y’all. Hypocrisy is no impediment when political power (and, not unrelated, money) is at stake…certainly not for Michele Bachmann.

I’m ashamed to admit that Bachmann represents the Congressional district in Minnesota I went to high school in. I’m even more ashamed that so many people I grew up around are so brain-dead and thoroughly propagandized that they would vote repeatedly for Bachmann. Bachmann’s one-sentence rejection of Conservative economic philosophy will be lost on the sheeple in Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District…but then they have exactly the quality of leadership they deserve, eh?

Evidently, the road to making America great again travels through Hypocrisy, Greed, Self-interest, and Propaganda. Welcome to the New World Oligarchy…and Michele Bachmann is here to pave the way for what could only charitably be described as corporate-driven Fascism.

Oh…and it gets better….

Just imagine the degree to which Bachmann will spend providing copious amounts of material to late night comedians. Jon Stewart will likely have to expand The Daily Show to a full hour just to keep up with the silliness.

Really, I don’t care how Bachmann sells herself. She could portray herself as a Nobel Peace Prize winner, but she’d still be her own worst enemy. If running for President didn’t require her to open her mouth now and again, she might stand a shot at actually being taken seriously. Unfortunately, since she’ll be running her mouth early and often, it’s not a matter of IF she’ll saying truly, unbelievably stupid. It’s just a matter of when.

Just think, the Iowa Caucuses are still nine months off. I can hardly wait…. ;-)
