Last weekend, Erin and I went to see Fred Armisen (he’s in town filming Season 2 of Portlandia with Carrie Brownstein) put on a show in a former funeral home in Portland’s Westmoreland neighborhood. Turns out that Armisen is quite the gifted musician. It was an interesting show, though it was one of the hottest nights of the year and a few hundred sweaty bodies were crammed into a small un-air-conditioned room. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination….
Brownstein (some of you might remember Sleater-Kinney) sat in on a couple of songs. She and Janet Weiss, who played drums on a couple songs as well, are part of a relatively new band called Wild Flag. In an attempt to prove that I’m about more than divisive politics, I thought I’d share one of their videos. I’m impressed….
