What you’re looking at is (at least as far as I can remember) my first published piece (in English). I once wrote an article for an Albanian political magazine while I was in Kosovo. It was published in Albanian, so for all I know, it could have been a three-page ad for cat food. Because of that, I’m going to call this my first published piece of writing. No, it doesn’t pay, but right now I’m just trying to get some exposure and name recognition in any (safe. legal, moral, and ethical) way I can. It’s a start, and my hope is that before long I’ll be able to look back and see this as a big (and much-anticipated) first step. I’d be horribly out of line if I neglected to thank Erin for her editing assistance. No matter what anyone tells you, a writer is only as good as his editor…and she’s got skills.
