If this is what's to be done in Jesus' name, then I'm a proud non-Christian

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Randall Terry

Randall Terry, the founder of Operation Rescue, is trying to raise $100,000 to run explicit advertisements on abortion against President Obama in Iowa and New Hampshire. Terry announced that he is running against Obama in the Democratic primary in order to use an election law loophole that would allow him to run graphic advertisements showing aborted fetuses. In the ads, Terry compares Evangelical Christians who voted for Obama to Judas Iscariot and says that Catholics who backed Obama committed a “betrayal of the faith.”…. Terry asked supporters to donate to him rather than the Republican candidates because “no GOP candidate is going to run ads that thrash Obama for his support of child killing like these ads do,” arguing that Obama is “the paramount abortionist of the western hemisphere” and “patently evil.” “I despise this Presidency with all my heart,” Terry said, “and I am committed with my life’s blood if necessary to defend the innocent babies that are being slaughtered under Obama’s policies.”

It would difficult to overstate how thoroughly unbalanced and addled by hatred Randall Terry is (How else could you explain Operation Rescue?). To call him “anti-choice” wouldn’t begin to convey the depth of his hatred for the notion that women deserve to control their own bodies. To call him intolerant wouldn’t begin to describe how inflexible, antipathetic, and hate-fueled his ideology and religious “faith” truly is.

To Terry’s way of thinking, anyone who dares to disagree with him when it comes to female reproductive “rights” is a heretic and a “Judas Iscariot”, worthy only of scorn and derision as traitors to the One True Faith. When you refer to yourself as a “Christian” and then insult and dismiss those Christians who don’t share your zeal and your unquenchable hatred of women…well, you’re clearly beyond hope, much less salvation. Randall Terry wouldn’t recognize Christian love and charity if it wore pasties and gave him a lap dance at a strip club in Wichita. He’s just another example of a zealot willing to use “Christianity” to justify his intolerance and hatred. In so doing, Terry demonstrates beyond that shadow of a doubt that he knows little of and cares even less for the teachings of the Savior he claims to revere.

Terry’s also tragically a victim of terminal Obama Derangement Syndrome. ODS has no known cure, and often strikes under-educated zealots who believe their religious faith takes precedence over any and all things, even a sense of decency and anything resembling respect for differing viewpoints. Those afflicted with ODS generally have a disturbing habit of blaming everything bad- from the recession to this season’s collapse of the Boston Red Sox to the disappointing, boring mess that is this season’s offering of Dancing With The Stars- on Barack Obama. That the President is neither directly nor indirectly responsible for any of these things is besides the point. Zealotry requires a foil upon which one can unload the copious stores of hatred and bile that have accumulated in the cold, black heart of the zealot. So much of this epic, irrational, and unreasonable hatred has been focused on President Obama that the condition now has its own name. And Terry displays the undeniable signs of being terminally afflicted.

Randall Terry is neither a serious nor a credible Presidential candidate. In fact, the man’s a joke, a walking, talking exercise in hypocrisy, irrationality, and sheer, unmedicated lunacy. His “platform”, such as it is, appears to be focused solely on turning back the clock to pre-Roe v. Wade days. His one and only goal seems to be to turn women into sperm receptacles and firmly establish them as the property of men. As far as I can determine, Terry’s a one-trick pony, his platform beginning and ending with the abortion issue.

Yes, the man’s a miserable excuse for a human being…but karma being what it is, his will come around soon enough. For now, I’m going to sit back and wait for his pointy l’il hate-filled haid to ‘splode, knowhutimean?? I mean, it can’t be easy (or safe) hating that much…especially for a man so well-versed in the teachings of Jesus Christ as Terry claims to be.
