Just another cold, damp, grey day in (something resembling) Paradise

It’s Monday, which means that I’ve a new column up at Oregon Sports News. This week, it’s my take on the sex scandal at Penn State (Didn’t see THAT one coming, did you??). No, it’s not a horribly original topic, but I think you’ll find my column to be a slightly different take on the whole sordid mess.

On another note, I’m branching out a bit. You can now occasionally find a post or two reposted (in addition to The Agonist) at Firedoglake and Daily Kos. I’m trying to spread myself out a bit more, in the hope of attracting more attention and a wider audience. Initially, I’ll primarily be reposting pieces from WWJD, but as time goes by, I hope to doing something original outside of the mothership. After 10+ years of first The People’s Republic of Seabrook and now WWJD, I figure it’s about time to work to turn this into something more serious and (hopefully) more remunerative. Baby steps…which hopefully will lead to bigger, more challenging, and more exciting steps.

In other housekeeping news, James Bow continues the process of revamping WWJD. My blog is now but one of a few subpages comprising my growing literary empire (Total world domination? A cunning linguist and despot never discloses his true intentions.). Having off-shored my IT department to Canada, I’ve supplied the ideas to James and I’ve asked him to take the reigns from there. I’m not completely sure what the finished product will look like, but there’s something exciting about turning this over to him while relinquishing control of the details. In the meantime, you’ll notice that WWJD has a distinctly “under construction” feel to it…and it will for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned.

Happy Monday, y’all!!
