It’s as sad, tired, and predictable as Megyn Kelly’s faux outrage over whatever “issue” she’s flogging on a particularly day. The alleged “War on Christmas” meme perpetrated by Fox Noise Channel provides yet another way to distract the already easily propagandized and malleable American Sheeple. Calling something a “Holiday Tree” is not ipso facto a refusal to use the term “Christmas Tree”. It’s simply a recognition that Christmas has morphed into a major holiday with both secular and religious components. That (I realize this will shock Fox Nation) and the reality that not all Americans are Christians celebrating Christmas as honoring the birth of Jesus Christ.
Truth be told, it’s not even that the talking heads at FNC are overtly Christian; it’s just another propaganda point with which they can bludgeon Liberals, whom they blame for everything from banning prayer in public schools to New Coke to the Lindbergh kindapping. Does anyone seriously believe that Gretchen Carlson, Steve Doocy, et al are REALLY committed, practicing Christians? Perhaps some are, but I’d wager that for most of them, the “War on Christmas” meme is just another convenient club which they can wield against Liberals. This creates and maintains outrage…and of course keeps ratings high. What…you think FNC is the #1 cable “news” outlet because of its superior journalistic instincts and talents?
Erin and I have decided not to get a Christmas holiday tree this year. Sure; we’ll tell you that it’s because our small house just doesn’t have the space for a tree and neither of us want to participate in such a wasteful tradition. But how do you know that it’s not REALLY because we’re foot soldiers in the evil Liberal War on Christmas? Hmm?? Perhaps we’re just evil, Satanic Liberals out to undermine Our Way of Life ©….
Yes, while those of you in Fox Nation will be praying on Christmas morning, we’ll no doubt beseeching our Socialist overlords to destroy freedom and capitalism so that Big Government can cast it’s ugly spell over America.
