Rick Perry: "Women should be considered sperm receptacles...and that's why I'm running for President"

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX)

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) declared that he’d experienced a “transformation” following an anti-abortion film and now no longer supports allowing women to get an abortion if they are victims of rape or incest. Perry joined Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Santorum at the screening of The Gift Of Life, a pro-life film produced by Citizens United, in Iowa last month. Though the 61 year-old Texas Governor had long supported allowing abortions in cases of rape or incest before yesterday, Perry said the movie prompted a change of heart and he now opposed abortions without exceptions for rape or incest.

2011 was a horrible year if you believe in the importance of women having access to quality, affordable, and NON-IDEOLOGICAL reproductive health care. Unfortunately, this year’s GOP Presidential field is vying to see who can be the most virulently anti-woman…which is an interesting position, given that half the population is of the distaff persuasion.

Rick Perry is the current leader in the clubhouse, having declared that he now opposes abortion under any and every circumstance whatsoever- no compromise, and no exception for rape or incest. If Gov. Goodhair has his way, women will be forced to carry a child conceived by rape to term. If there was any doubt, Perry just drew a line in the sand establishing that women are little more than sperm receptacles and the property of men to do with as they see fit. This hatred of women may resonate with the GOP nutjob base, but it’s difficult to see how it will be successful in a general election, when a Republican candidate will actually have to work to win over women. Good luck with that, y’all….

Gee, d’ya think that a large proportion of women just might be turned off by a candidate who views them as little more than two-legged sperm receptacles? Just a thought….
