When Republicans rule Washington, though, they couldn’t care less about the debt. Who took office when the budget was balanced and then proceeded to run up the largest deficit in our nation’s history? Hmm…I believe that would be Captain Codpiece © … a Republican, if memory serves. Ronald Reagan also ran up the deficit during his reign. Why the hypocrisy? Because it’s not about the deficit, silly; it’s about power. Period. Any questions??

I love it when Conservatives are unintentionally honest about the true goals behind their legislative efforts. In this case, Rep. Trent Franks is openly admitting that his bill to ban abortions based on the race or sex of the fetus is a thinly velied ruse designed to eventually criminalize all abortions. Yeah, but there’s this little thing called Roe v. Wade, which you can’t just blithely ignore because it runs counter to your beliefs.
The next Race for the Cure is this Sunday in El Paso, TX. My hope is that will begin to see the beginning of the end of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Or will Americans forgive Komen their egregious partisanship and continue donating to an inefficient, bloated, and corrupt charity more concerned with politics than its stated mission?
