Oxymoron alert: "Fox News Channel" and "objective journalism"

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Ed Henry

Ed Henry (FOX News Channel): Your critics will say on Capitol Hill that you want gas prices to go higher, because you have said before that will wean the American people off fossil fuels onto renewable fuels. How do you respond to that?

President Obama: Ed, just from a political perspective, do you think the President of the United States, going into reelection, wants gas prices to go up even higher? Is there anybody here who thinks that makes a lot of sense?

I don’t normally watch Presidential news conferences, and it was only a coincidence yesterday when I happened to catch President Obama’s epic slapdown of Fox Noise Channel’s Ed Henry. Not that the President had to work very hard to make Henry look like an idiot, mind you. In his haste to make it painfully obvious who his employer is, Henry lobbed a question at the President that was shocking in its partisanship. Well, it would have been if Henry didn’t collect a paycheck from Rupert Murdoch.

I understand that the White House can’t really deny FNC personnel press credentials, though they’re a “news” organization in name only. I do have to admit that I rather enjoy watching the President engage FNC dimwits like Henry. The poor sot actually used to be something resembling an objective journalist when he was the Chief White House Correspondent for CNN. Now that Henry’s gone over to the Dark Side, he’s like a more clueless version of Chris Wallace…something I didn’t even think that was possible.

Nice going, Ed; in your zeal to embarrass the President, you really only succeeded in making yourself look like a jackass. Not every White House reporter could tee one up for the President as you did. That’s some world-class partisan lunacy there, Cowboy. Better luck next time, eh?
