Pot, meet Kettle: Rick Santorum calls Mitt Romney a liar

Mitt Romney, who the former Pennsylvania senator told Kansans on Friday would not “tell the truth to the American people” if elected president…. “You know ladies and gentlemen, we already have one president who doesn’t tell the truth to the American people,” Santorum said in Topeka, referring to Barack Obama. “We don’t need another nominated by our party to do the same.”

I suppose this would fall under the “It’s takes one to know one” heading. Rick Santorum, that paragon of prevarication, is calling out Mitt Romney’s predilection for perjury. This has all the makings of a coffee spew moment…except that Romney IS an inveterate and unrepentant liar…as is Little Ricky. Both of these integtity-challenged prevaricators possess the Conservative gene for manufacturing “facts” and specious allegations on an as-needed basis. It really does take one to know one, eh?

The reality is that neither of these moral midgets (or Newt Gingrich, for that matter) would recognize the truth if it showed up with a pair of kneepads and a tube of AstroGlide. Their focus is all, and only, about winning, and if that means having to stretch the truth to and beyond the breaking point…well, so be it. Any extremism in the cause of defeating Barack Obama is no vice…at least to their way of thinking.

I could go on at length bemoaning the complete and utter lack of honesty in the GOP campaign, but that would be like bemoaning our dependance on breathable air. The sun rises in the east. The Cubs lose. Republicans lie like it’s second nature. I have but one question…one that I’m not expecting an answer to:

Why is it that a good, allegedly God-fearing Conservative has to build their house on the soft sand of dishonesty and lack of integrity? Do they really have so little to offer that they have to dress it up with lies, as if they’re putting lipstick on a pig? OK, so that’s two questions…but you get the point, right?

If these black, dishonest souls can’t tell the truth during a campaign, how can we know that they’ll be telling the truth if they’re elected President?

As if I need to answer that….
