I long ago gave up writing about Sarah Palin (says the man who appears to once again be writing about her). Now I want to appeal to everyone in the media, the blogosphere, and the ionosphere to do the same thing. Caribou Barbie might have been something close to relevant in 2008, but that was so…well, 2008. A lot’s happened in the past four years, and none of it has anything to do with Alaska’s ex-half-governor. Though she’s struggled to remain in the forefront of public consciousness, Palin’s become increasingly less relevant with each passing day. So why, then, does the media still give a damn about what Sarah Palin thinks…about anything? OK, I get why Fox Noise Channel is still enamored of her, but no other media outlet not named World Net Daily, NewsMax, or the Drudge Report has a valid reason for devoting more face time, air time, or column inches to anything Palin-related.
I have an idea: How ‘bout we all get back to concentrating on people who have something positive to add and whose opinions really matter? Sarah Palin is a media whore, and her addiction to television cameras has been fed to the nth degree by the Mainstream Media. So why don’t we all just do America a solid and consign Caribou Barbie to where she belongs- the scrap heap of history…especially since her 15 minutes ended in November, 2008?
