When Right-wing ideology is a synonym for journalism, you must be Matt Drudge

The above graphic can be found this morning in the upper left-hand corner of the Drudge Report. For the uninitiated, Matt Drudge is the Right-wing ideologue who blessed us with the late (but not mourned) Andrew Breitbart. The Drudge Report is a news aggregation site that makes apology for of attempt to hide it’s far-Right orientation. Who needs objective journalism when you can trade in propaganda? Hey, you can save a bunch of money when you don’t have to do any fact-checking….

Drudge frequently and not-so-very-subtly engages in exactly the same tactics he accuses Liberals of employing. He’ll seldom pass on an opportunity to smear Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or any other left-of-center politician he doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with. I suppose when you have nothing of value to contribute to the public discourse, tearing things down is probably the only way to get the attention you crave.

When you have no facts on your side, and when you have no argument save for innuendo, cheap insults, and character assassintion…well, that’s evidently how an ambitious Conservative hack makes a name for himself these days. And you wonder how and why it is that Fox Noise Channel is so successful? When you appeal to ignorance and prejudice instead of informing, you get a population that couldn’t spell “CAT” if you spotted them the “c” and the “a.”

Somewhere warm and breezy, Josef Goebbels snickers into his Corona….
