Between July 2010 and July 2011, the percentage of White births dropped from 50.4% to 49.6%, the first time in American history that White babies haven’t constituted a majority. I suppose there are two ways of looking at this demographic shift:
America has always been a nation of immigrants, so it makes sense that minorities would at some point collectively represent a majority of live births. America is a melting pot, a country made stronger and more interesting by its diversity. This represents a slight demographic shift, but is really more symbolic than anything.
OMIGOD!!! WHITES ARE UNDER ATTACK!!! WE MUST PREPARE TO FIGHT FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE WHITE RACE, THE RACE THAT GOD ORDAINED TO BE THE MAJORITY!!! TO THE BARRICADES!!!
Before y’all run out and bury a school bus in the back yard and mark off your territory with razor wire and interlocking fields of machine gun fire, you might want to keep one thing in mind. Nothing’s changed. The demographics of this country being what they are, this symbolic shift has been foreseen for some time. Sure, over the long term, things will change and America will become a different place…but America has always been in the process of becoming a different place. That’s what happen when you allow people from foreign countries to come here and chase the American dream.
