Today in Right Wing Reality

You have to know you’ve been the architect of your own demise when you lose control of your loonies. When it becomes apparent that Rick Perry May Not Be Conservative Enough For Texas, you understand that uber-Jesus-y fear-mongering Right-wingers have created a monster they’re no longer able to control. Perry, no one’s Liberal, is facing a libertarian backlash in Texas that risks taking the Lone Star State right over the edge of reason and into mass, self-interested, foaming at the mouth insanity. If Ron Paul could be President of anywhere, it would be Texas.

Instead of building a wall along the US-Mexico border, how about we just build that wall around Texas and leave it to the kill’-‘em-and-grill-‘em Libertarians??

Committing genocide against infidels: It’s What Jesus Would Have Done. So much for Christian charity and tolerance, eh? Yep, if you teach a child to hate non-Christians early in life, you’ll have a believer for life, and one who’ll think that killing “infidels” is acceptable…because they’re not really human, anyway.

And you thought the Crusades were just a disturbing historical aberration…

NEWS FLASH: You don’t get to claim to be an oppressed class when you and those like you constitute an overwhelming majority. There’s arrogance, there’s insufferability…and then there’s whatever it is Harry Mihet and Matt Barber are cooking.

This might come as a surprise, but not sharing your narrow, fear-based hyper-religiosity does not ipso facto make one a “Communist”…not that Mihet and/or Barber could define what makes one a Communist.

Every right-thinking Christian American patriot knows the path to righteous and prosperity runs through a 2000-year-old book of questionable provenance. Just when I begin to ponder the pointlessness of my miserable lot in life, along comes Tony Barton, who kindly points out that if I’d only read the Bible…I’D BE RICH!! We’ll just kindly overlook the fact that Barton, known for his overt and intolerant hyper-religiosity, is also an inveterate and unrepentant liar.

Then again, if you think that Liberty University’s Law School is one of the nation’s finest legal educational institutions…. Perhaps I might want to find someone else to provide an explanation for why I’m such a miserable, godless excuse for a human being.

Because compassion and kindness is for losers and Liberals. One of the things that make Karl Rove such a successful Right-wing political operative is his complete and total lack of compassion for the suffering of others. Nothing, no matter how benign or unfortunate can be allowed to pass without milking it for whatever political advantage can be realized from it. When Commerce Secretary John Bryson suffered a seizure while driving in California and was involved in three accidents in five minutes, Rove’s SuperPAC, American Crossroads was among the first to cast aspersions. How does @CommerceSec have 3 car crashes in 5 minutes and alcohol NOT be involved?

Stay classy, y’all….

Because global climate change is a Left-wing plot. When you can’t refute the science, why not just ignore it and act as if nothing’s amiss? Republicans in Virginia and North Carolina are refusing to accept predictions of rising sea levels, passing them off as Liberal propaganda and scare tactics. Their strategy for dealing with rising sea levels: just ignore them and pretend the science is politically oriented.

Yeah, that’ll work well when Virginia Beach and North Carolina’s Outer Banks are under water.

When the new idiocracy becomes an undeniable reality, the American Sheeple will have only themselves to blame. Americans love to bitch about the miserable quality of government…while completely ignoring the reality that they’re primarily responsible for electing morons in the first place. F’rinstance, in what lucid universe could Floriduh Gov. Rick Scott be considered even minimally competent and above corruption?

This is what happens when you elevate religion above everything, even the interests of the general public. Voters in North Dakota are about to vote on a ballot measure that would allow personal religious convictions to trump any and all other considerations, even the health and well-being of an individual in need of medical care.

Because NOTHING is more important than protecting the right of one individual to use their beliefs to put another at risk of harm.

Your Christians are so unlike your Christ….
