When it becomes apparent that Rick Perry May Not Be Conservative Enough For Texas, you understand that uber-Jesus-y fear-mongering Right-wingers have created a monster they’re no longer able to control. Perry, no one’s Liberal, is facing a libertarian backlash in Texas that risks taking the Lone Star State right over the edge of reason and into mass, self-interested, foaming at the mouth insanity. If Ron Paul could be President of anywhere, it would be Texas.

Republicans in Virginia and North Carolina are refusing to accept predictions of rising sea levels, passing them off as Liberal propaganda and scare tactics. Their strategy for dealing with rising sea levels: just ignore them and pretend the science is politically oriented.

Voters in North Dakota are about to vote on a ballot measure that would allow personal religious convictions to trump any and all other considerations, even the health and well-being of an individual in need of medical care.
Because NOTHING is more important than protecting the right of one individual to use their beliefs to put another at risk of harm.
