A Conservative History of the United States- America of, by, and for White Christians

1961: Barack Obama is born, in Africa: “And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya.”—Mike Huckabee

1961: The Soviet Union brainwashes its first Marxist terrorist spybot: “Soviet Russian Communists knew of Barack from a very early date… he was raised and groomed Communist to pave the way for their future.”—Janet Porter

Joseph McCarthy is an American hero (He certainly would be in today’s Teapublican Party).

New Hampshire started the American Revolution (Well, at least they can be famous for something, right??).

African-Americans join the Confederate Army to defend slavery (Evidently, even history has “WTF??” moments).

Planned Parenthood opened genocide clinics in order to kill black babies before they came into the world. (Damn you, Margaret Sanger!!)

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican (And the Dalai Lama’s a member of the John Birch Society).

Anyone one of those ridiculous statement could pass for a coffee-spew moment, but they’re statements that have actually been said in all seriousness by Republicans- Steve King, Michele Bachmann, Ray McBerry, and Herman Cain, among other Right-wing “luminaries.” A reasonable person would have to wonder how so many on the Far Right could twist history into something akin to a comic book, but these aren’t exactly Ph.D. candidates we’re talking about. Some of these folks have the intellectual candlepower of a butane lighter. Even ostensibly intelligent Conservatives have a propensity for believing some truly stupid and outlandish things.

This is what happens when your edumication consists of the Bible, racism, and healthy doses of American Exceptionalism, eh?

Given the anti-intellectual bent of the Far Right, it’s no surprise that so many have spoken so openly and with such conviction about amazingly dense and provably untrue historical “facts.”

I suppose this is what you can expect to happen when a lack of integrity and historical awareness allows you to invent “facts” to support your addled, uber-Conservative world view. It’s also why none of these folks should have ANYTHING to do with education. If you don’t understand the distinction between “education” and “indoctrination,” you have no business being involved with anything requiring critical thought…not that any of these miscreants understand or value critical thinking skills.

It’s difficult to believe that seemingly lucid bipeds could be so astonishingly, unbelievably stupid and ideologically inflexible, but there you have it. The next time any of these folks are interviewed on Fox Noise Channel, someone really should be checking their knuckles for scabs.

Parody? Or Conservative reality? I’m not certain there’s any daylight between the two.

Welcome to our glorious new idiocracy, Comrade….

If Jesus had been a Republican, feeding the masses would have looked a whole lot different was the previous entry in this blog.

If you're feeling compelled to mock religion, this is a pretty good start is the next entry in this blog.
