This week in Jesus: The "I'm going straight to Hell, aren't I??" edition

At one point, Trump weighed in on the subject of the Middle East as he declared that any president “with some brain power” would have agreed to help the rebels in Libya only after getting them to agree to give the United States fifty percent of the nation’s oil. In fact that same policy should has applied toward Iraq as well, Trump said, since the US was also entitled to that nation’s oil because “to the victor belong the spoils.”…. Then after another twenty minutes or so of incoherent self-absorbed rambling, Trump finally got around to delivering his uniquely Christian message to the students at Liberty University: “Don’t let people take advantage; get even!”

The God the Right-Wing Worships Sure Is One Needy, Insufferable Jerk: Uh…I don’t think God’s the problem.

God Is Missing From the Republican Platform: Their Christianity has nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus Christ. It’s about fear, hatred, and ignorance…none of which Jesus taught.

Todd Akin: ‘At The Heart Of Liberalism Is Really A Hatred Of God’: And speaking of hatred, fear, and ignorance…if Todd Akin’s a Christian, I’m the Queen of England.

Religious Right Extremists to Ride on the Todd Akin Bus Tour: And while we’re still on the subject of hatred, fear, and ignorance, Akin’s decided he’s going to bring along a few more knuckledraggers intent on dragging us kicking and screaming back to the 14th century. Way to move America forward there, Torquemada!

GOPer Confesses: Republicans Have Gone ‘Nuts’ With Religious Fundamentalism: Honey, Captain Obvious is at the front door again….

Pastor John Hagee Warns America About Obama Re-election: Only when America is once again ruled by Conservative White Males will Americans truly be safe from the threat of a Black man in the White House.

Rick Perry: ‘Christian Warriors’ must use ‘Spiritual Warfare’ against ‘Satanic’ Separation of Church and State: Only when America is once again ruled by Conservative White Males will Americans truly be safe from the threat of a Black man in the White House. Uh…is there an echo in here??

Sex Abuse Claims Stem From Tulsa Megachurch: Well, in the church’s defense, it did involve a Sunday School lesson about submission. Perhaps it was the kneepads that tipped people to the fact that something in the Sunday School lesson wasn’t quite right?

Focus on the Family Election Special Claims US Government is Modeled after Biblical Israel: RIght; next they’ll be telling us that God’s a Republican.

Forget Dialogue about LGBT, the Religious Right Isn’t Listening: No, they’d rather burn gays and lesbians at the stake. It’s What Jesus Would Do, don’tchaknow?

Why Do the Craziest Religious People Get the Most Attention?: Because no one wants to hear about Christians who actually live their beliefs.

Boykin: US Must ‘Identify the Enemy as the Theology of Islam’ or ‘We Cannot be Victorious’: So, does that mean that being insufficiently hateful and self-righteous is evidence of a defeatist attitude?
