LEWISVILLE — Lewisville police say a 25-year-old man shot himself inside Vista Ridge Mall late Monday afternoon after an argument with a female acquaintance who is a mall employee.
The employee works at a kiosk, and called mall security during the argument. Security officers were escorting the man from the shopping center when he pulled a gun from his clothes and shot himself, police said.
“He did not display the weapon toward anyone else,” said Lewisville police Capt. Kevin Deaver. “He wasn’t threatening anyone in any matter.”
Mall employees were ordered not to speak to the media, but several described chaos. They said people began running as they spotted the gun and heard a shot.
