Fox News Channel: Where being a crackpot is no impediment to being taken seriously

What’s really amazing about this segment is how seriously Uma Pemmaraju of Fox News talking head takes this whack-a-doo. It’s really something. For those who don’t know him, Cary Wise and his fringe, nutball organization are promoted on right-wing hate sites like Stormfront (not going to link, Google it). Yet he’s treated with the utmost respect on Fox, as some kind of credible figure. So please, can we stop with the MSNBC/Fox News comparisons? Can you imagine a the leader of an organization dedicated to overthrowing the US government and replacing it with a Marxist dictatorship being granted a similar interview on MSNBC? I can’t either.

How does a thoroughly unbalanced RWNJ know that they’ve arrived? It’s usually when Fox News Channel not only grants them an interview, but treats them as if they’re worthy of being taken seriously. No matter how completely wacked out, barely lucid, and/or heavily medicated you might be, if you call the Far Right end of the ideological spectrum home, Fox News has a place at the altar for you. Even better (or worse, depending on your perspective), the talking heads at Fox News will treat you as if you actually have something positive to add to the public dialogue

I could care less about whether or not Texas should be allowed to secede. Were it up to me, I’d be telling the Lone Star State not to let the door hit it in its collective ass on the way out. Preferably, Texas would exit with Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama in tow. With those six states gone, our collective IQ and grip on reality would increase exponentially…and we’d no longer be subjected to the prospect of Rick Perry one again running for President on a “Who needs critical thinking? I have Jesus!!” platform.

That Fox News Channel would treat Cary Wise as someone more serious than the RWNJ he is ought to tell you everything you need to know about the GOP Propaganda Channel. NOW can we lose the false equivalence that MSNBC is just as bad on the left side of the equation?
