When I'm feeling down, the Conservative Media filter turns that frown upside down

If you don’t expect impartial journalism and abject, slavish devotion truth from the Conservative media, the experience of perusing sites like Newsmax, World Net Daily, Drudge Report, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum can be highly entertaining. I thought I’d share some of the wealth, because who doesn’t need a good laugh now and again? Lord knows little entertains in quite the way self-important and just plain wrong Conservatives in the media can. So, without further ado…on to the festivities:

Ed Meese: Reagan Could Teach Obama About Constitution: While Obama was a constitutional law professor before getting into politics, Reagan was an actor, so he could TOTALLY play the part and school the President. After all, Ronald Reagan could do ANYTHING back in the day. Now he’d be a pariah in the GOp.

Hagel endorsed by Communist Party USA: And he just got a key endorsement from the Iranian government, so he’s golden…right, Conservatives?

Paul Krugman’s Latest Inane Assertion: It’s easy to refute Krugman when he’s not present and able to dismantle your argument…because he will. By far the smartest person in any room he’s in, Krugmanwould embarrass and destroy Richard Rahn in a face to face debate. I suspect Rahn would likely refuse the challenge and choose to remain safely behind his keyboard in his tightly constructed, fact-free bubble.

Rove’s Group Rips Ashley Judd as a ‘Radical Hollywood Liberal’: This from a man who’s analysis and electoral predictions were uniformly and stunningly inaccurate. If calling Judd a “Radical Hollywood Liberal” is the best he’s got, she should just go ahead and begin hiring staff for her Capitol Hill office now.

Actor Bruce Willis Opposes Obama’s Gun-Control Proposal: So, let me see if I have this straight- Ashley Judd’s a “Radical Hollywood Liberal,” but Bruce Willis is a true American patriot because of his unwavering devotion to guns and an absolutist interpretation of the 2nd Amendment? Am I right? Because there’s certainly no hypocrisy here, is there?

The strong-arming of a dhimmi Catholic diocese: There’s nothing quite so relaxing and patriotic as unwinding with Pamela Geller’s breathless retelling of the latest jihadi outrage against America.

Norquist: Sequestration ‘Fine Way’ to Stop Obama’s Overspending: Hmm…isn’t interesting how “overspending” was never an issue until the Black Guy was in the Oval Office, isn’t it? Never mind that spending under Obama has been far less than his Republican predecessors. Grover Norquist never was one for letting the truth get in the way of perfectly good propaganda.

‘Shall not be infringed’ - period!: Sometimes, when I’m really feeling down and blue, I like to soothe my bruised self-image by listening to gun nuts twist the 2nd Amendment to fit their inflexible ignorance and prejudice. Who needs facts when God and Bushmaster are on your side?

Fact-based reality about women in combat: Any time a Conservative pundit uses “fact based” and “reality” in close proximity to one another, you can rest assured that what you’ll actually be getting is unrelated to either.

Agenda 21’s terror Down Under: Right…so, tell me again when the UN will be getting rid of golf courses; I must have missed that part.

Maddow just can’t stop ‘talking’ about WND: Conservatives aren’t going to receive this well, but they really could learn a thing or six about fact-checking, research, and reality-based journalism from Maddow, who deals in facts and not breathless conspiracy theories.
