A man accidentally fired a handgun, injuring himself and another man, in New Braunfels, officials said.
Around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, a 30-year-old man was showing the weapon to another man, 24, when the handgun fired, according to the New Braunfels Police Department news release. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Paisano Street.
The shooter injured his own hand, the release states, and shot the other man in the stomach.
“The New Braunfels Police urge gun owners to exercise proper firearms safety at all times,” Capt. John McDonald said in the release.
It said the men were taken to University Hospital and their conditions were not immediately known.
