Louie Gohmert cements his reputation as the dumbest Congressman

During his interview on The Blaze this afternoon on the Boston bombing, Rep. Louie Gohmert said we are living in one of those times that “the Bible talks about when right becomes wrong and wrong becomes right and people do not understand things that are spiritually discerned.”…. But, he added, what is needed now is simple common sense … like not trying to pass gun control legislation….

If they’re talking about God and guns, you can pretty well rest assured that you’re probably dealing with a Republican Congressman from Texas. If the Congressman in question is talking about God, guns, AND the Boston Marathon bombing…well, that’s some Grade A Louie Gohmert stupid, knowhutimean? And Lord knows no one does that better than Louie Gohmert, The Master His Own Self.

You might think that Gohmert would recognize that a time when the entire nation is in shock and mourning those lost in a terrorist attack might be a good time to dial it back a bit. If you were thinking that about Gohmert, you’d be WAY wrong, because he’s never run across a tragedy that he couldn’t politicize inappropriately.

At a time when we should be mourning the dead and injured and celebrating the strength and resolve of the people of Boston and the awe-inspiring work of law enforcement…Gohmert didn’t take the high road. Pouring salt into wounds is something that doesn’t fave Gohmert, because he’s evidently incapable of exercising a modicum of simple human decency. If he thinks he can use something- even a terrorist attack- to advance his God and Guns agenda…well, compassion and human decency is for losers and Liberals, right?

For my part, I’m just glad that Gohmert isn’t designing and building bridges, because we’d all be in trouble….
