Steve Stockman: Convincing proof there's no minimum IQ requirement to serve in Congress

Stockman threatened to impeach President Obama last January, little more than a week after he was sworn into Congress, claiming that the Obama Administration’s gun safety proposals are “an existential threat to this nation.” Stockman also previously claimed that Obama’s support for gun safety demonstrates that he has “no sympathy for unarmed women raped by criminals.”

There aren’t many Congresscritters on Capitol Hill who could give Louie Gohmert a run for his money when it comes to a lack of native intelligence simple human decency. A scant three months into his first term in Congress, Steve Stockman has demonstrated himself worthy of fairly being described as Louie Gohmert stupid. How else would you describe a politician who could put out such a bumper sticker and then use it as a fund raising tool? What else could you call an elected official who wouldn’t recognize reasoned, rational debate if it snuck up and bit him on the ass?

If you think I’m being overly harsh on Stockman, check his Twitter feed…and you’ll discover that I’m actually being kind to him. Stockman is Ann Coulter in a cheap suit, thoroughly convinced of his own moral superiority and of the obvious evil intentions of Liberals. To think that Stockman would have anything lucid or of any redeemable value to say about the gun control debate is laughable…because he proves it virtually every time he opens his mouth. Right; if we could arm fetuses we’d end abortion. WTF?

This is the sort of unmedicated lunacy standing in the way the majority of American who support common sense gun control. No argument is too stupid or inflammatory if it supports the desired goal of making sure no gun laws are changed even one iota.

How is it possible to have a reasoned, rational discussion with mental and moral midgets like Steve Stockman in the mix? It’s not, of course, and perhaps that’s the point. Perhaps the strategy, reprehensible as it may seem, really is to keep the debate muddled long enough that the momentum for change wanes and nothing is done. I’m not certain Steve Stockman is intelligent enough to think that far ahead, but there are plenty of gun nuts who are.

And here’s a question that’s a bit off topic: Steve Stockman is in Congress because the people of his district elected him. What does it says about those who voted for a mental midget like Stockman? I’m not sure, but it certainly isn’t flattering…and they certainly have the quality of leadership they deserve.
