The editors of the Houston Chronicle issued a rare apology to readers: “As the government enters its 16th day of the Ted Cruz Shutdown and the nation teeters on the brink of an unprecedented, devastating, completely unnecessary default, we can only say we’re sorry.”
The editorial continued: “We knew this guy was demented, but never in a million fucking years did we think he was so filled with hate for Obama that he was willing to crash financial markets, throw millions out of work and create a global depression, just to prevent Americans from getting the kind of quality affordable healthcare he enjoyed as a child in Canada.”
The editorial concluded: “We are forever grateful to Canada for sending us such dazzling entertainers as Pamela Anderson and Justin Bieber. But is there any way we could do some kind of North American trade deal where they agree to take this shitheel back?”
