Racism, hyper-religiosity, and ignorance: The path to riches in America

The patriarch of a reality show will soon have his own Bible.

Phil Robertson, father in the A&E program Duck Dynasty, is writing his version of the Bible with son, Al.

According to Mediaite, the book will be the New King James edition with testimonials from father and son.

The testimonials will focus on five Robertson family values: ‘Faith, Family, Fellowship, Forgiveness, and Freedom.’

Publication for The Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible is set for 2014 October.

Thomas Nelson’s Bible Group is the book’s publisher.

‘We are honored and excited to be working with Phil and Al Robertson on this new Bible,’ Robert Sanford, vice president and associate publisher for Thomas Nelson, said, according to SGN Scoops.

‘The Robertson family’s passion for the Word is infectious and the impact of their ministry is amazing,’ Sanford continued. ‘We see this Bible as being something people can grow with in their own personal walk with God.’

Last year the elder Robertson was in the middle of a media firestorm after a GQ interview when he compared gay sexuality to bestiality, and grouped ‘the homosexual offenders’ with prostitutes, swindlers, drunks and others who ‘won’t inherit the kingdom of God.’

He also offered an interpretation on the segregated South, maintaining blacks were ‘singing and happy.’
