Who Would Jesus Hate?

Janet Porter’s anti-gay activism has always been low-brow, low-budget, and low on creativity. Take her 2013 anti-gay video, “Heather Has Two Cigarettes,” a parody of “Heather Has Two Mommies.” Porter made it because, she claimed, “gay behavior” is more dangerous than smoking. YouTube removed it for violating its hate speech rules. Porter, furious, called YouTube’s action “censoring scientific evidence as ‘hate speech,’” and said, “if [homosexuals] can silence the truth, they will silence the Gospel.”

“Janet Porter’s anti-gay activism has always been low-brow, low-budget, and low on creativity.” Right; it’s also been long on hatred and short on Christian love, charity, and tolerance. Then again, Porter’s theology has always been of the “F—k you” school, in which those who dare to disagree with her are consigned to the pits of Hell, there to burn for all Eternity. There’s nothing loving or comforting about her flavor of Imaginary Friend, who’s one angry, vindictive, and mean-spirited S.O.B.

Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no Evil, for I am the meanest son of a bitch in the Valley.

Not exactly an advertisement for a loving and compassionate God, is it? Evidently that sort of thing is only for losers and Liberals…because Porter’s God will beat your sorry ass, kick sand in your face, and leave your limp form bleeding out in the middle of the street. Her latest effort, ReaganBook, was a classless attempt to spread her special brand of hatred camouflaged as Christianity.

I say “was” because ReaganBook shut down almost as quickly as it opened, and at this writing was still out of commission. Something about being bombarded by membership requests from those who hate America and freedom….

The site administrators effectively pulled the plug on ReaganBook less than 24 hours after its launch.

“Thank you to all those who participated in the pre-release of ReaganBook.com,” a message credited to “Management” said on the site late Wednesday afternoon. “Your participation is helping us build a more secure site. Thank you! Please be patient while we make the necessary changes to keep the site free from obscenity, pornography, and those intent on the destruction of life, liberty, and the family. We will be opening the doors again soon with additional protections in place. As Reagan taught us, trust, but verify.”

ReaganBook is now offline, the homepage claiming that the site administrators are heavily involved in improving the site’s security for its members. Then again, when your 31 members include such esteemed Christian patriots as “A Huge G Rection” and “Adam and Steve,” you can understand why Porter’s techies might be wanting to rein things in a bit.

The other problem is that the site is a copyright infringement lawsuit looking for a place to happen. Having ripped off the ReaganBook logo, it appears they also copied much of Facebook’s design characteristics, including the font. I suppose if you’re operating on a shoestring budget, copying things you know work is always a good tactic, no?

ReaganBook itself is a low-budget effort to provide Porter with another fundraising stream that appears destined to be swamped by its lack of privacy controls and membership screening procedures. Because of this, ReaganBook is destined to be trolled by those who recognize Porter for the hateful hypocrite she is.

It’s too bad she didn’t at least have the credibility to avoid the legal s—tstorm destined to land on her doorstep.

Facebook, Porter says, is too “liberal,” and supposedly censored her partner in anti-gay hate, Peter LaBarbera, who runs a Southern Poverty Law Center-certified anti-gay hate group.

ReaganBook is a copyright lawsuit waiting to happen. Porter’s designers seem to have have copied Facebook’s font, mimicked its name, and can expect Zuckerberg’s lawyers to knock on her door soon.

Porter may spend most of her time speaking in churches to Christian patriots, but her message has little to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s about hatred and destruction, things even I understand are nowhere to be found in Christ’s teachings. ReaganBook was simply an effort to slap some paint on her hatred and homophobia and provide her “Christianity” with a patina of legitimacy.

Perhaps someday she’ll learn that the Gospel has nothing to do with her self-righteous hatred, anger, and homophobia…but I doubt it. It’s got to be tough being such a miserable, mean-spirited, black-hearted soul with so little joy or love to offer…but I suspect it pays well.

I feel sorry for the man who wakes up next to her every morning.

A very good reason not to be "normal" was the previous entry in this blog.

At least Fred Flintstone didn't beat his wife and get a slap on the wrist as punishment is the next entry in this blog.
