A self-described sovereign citizen was arrested Friday morning in West Virginia after crashing an SUV filled with live chickens, marijuana, firearms, and improvised explosive devices.
Seth Grim was driving a Ford Explorer about 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 79 when a dog inside the vehicle tried to jump out a window, reported The Charleston Gazette.
The 21-year-old Grim, who was wanted in Pennsylvania, lost control of the SUV, which flipped over.
State police responded to the crash, and troopers said they found the livestock, drugs, two AK-47 rifles, and a large amount of ammunition in the vehicle.
Troopers also said they found “altered fireworks,” but they did not offer further description.
Grim was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and he will likely face additional state and local charges.
Animal control officers rounded up about 30 chickens from the crash scene, but authorities said the dog was killed in the crash.
Grim, who told police he was a sovereign citizen, was arrested two weeks ago near Philadelphia and charged with fleeing a police officer and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
