Praise God, for he shall smite those who don't believe, think, live, and love as I do

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Pastor Steven Anderson

Baptist pastor in Tempe, Arizona called for the mass extermination of LGBT people on Sunday in a sermon entitled “AIDS: The Judgement of God.”…. In the sermon, which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday from Faithful Word Baptist Church, Pastor Steven Anderson said that God has ordered in the scriptures that gays should be killed, and that if humanity wants to have an “AIDS-free world by Christmas,” he said, that’s what should be done…. “Turn to Leviticus 20:13,” he says in the video, “because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS.”…. “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them,” Anderson read aloud…. “And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS,” he said. “It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”

Wow…he seems nice, huh??

“If you executed the homos like God recommends….” Really? Man, if this guy’s a Christian, I’m Lucretia Borgia. I’m guessing he stopped his biblical indoctrination once he got to Leviticus.

If you happen to believe in God, when you hit your knees to pray tonight you should be profusely thanking your flavor of God that your pastor isn’t Steven Anderson, who’s to Christianity what Scott Roeder was to the anti-choice movement. I’m not certain what may have happened to turn a man of God into such a snarling, angry Hellbeast of a preacher, but Anderson’s as much about the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Jeffery Dahmer was about veganism.

When you believe that your theology not only allows, but DEMANDS that you kill those you consider to be “less than,” you’re not only sick and a danger to others, but you stand for nothing even faintly resembling the teachings of Jesus Christ…who I’m pretty certain never advocated for killing homosexuals.

How someone committed to preaching the word of God could advocate for the extermination of an entire class of people without seeing a conflict defies rational understanding. Evidently, “Thou shalt not kill,” which when I last checked was still one of the Ten Pretty Good Ideas Commandments…no longer applies, at least in Anderson’s twisted theological fun house.

Unfortunately for Anderson, He was born about a century too late and in the wrong country. He would have made a great SS chaplain in Nazi Germany, where he would have been free to exterminate homosexuals and anyone who didn’t fit into his narrow theological box.

And people wonder why I’m so down on modern Christianity….
