In Texas, a competitive shooter has created a video demonstrating that you can cook bacon on your M16 assault rifle by firing off 90 rounds and letting the weapon’s heat do its thing. This seems to us to be both a supremely inefficient (and noisy) cooking method, not to mention a colossal waste of ammo, but on the plus side, we all now know a) that gun barrels get really hot; and b) why foreigners find the U.S. peculiar. Well done, sir.
This gem comes to us from the WWJD Austin, TX, bureau:
When I think of things that make America the great beacon of freedom (and deliciousness) it is, two things that immediately come to mind (OK, maybe not immediately, but work with me here) are guns and bacon. Guns, as any red-blooded ‘Merican patriot will tell you, make us safer, and bacon? Well, bacon makes EVERYTHING better.
Combine the two, and what you get is pure magic. Where else but America would someone think to cook breakfast on the smoking-hot barrel of an M-16 semi-automatic rifle?
When the history of our era is written, it will undoubtedly spotlight Dustin Ellerman as a true American hero…for what else could you call a man who’s learned how to combine high-powered weaponry and meat candy?
Rock on….
