I can handle people who believe differently than I do. Sometimes good people can make different decisions than I might with the same information, and that’s OK. If you’re at least thinking, if you put some thought into your belief, then I’m not going to have a problem. I’m not going to agree with you, to be certain, but I don’t expect everyone to believe as I do.
Then there’s this brain-dead lunatic….
What I have a problem with is rampant, wanton, aggressive stupidity of the sort evinced by the woman in this video. Granted, she’s one person (and a Looney Tune at that)…but there’s an entire Tea Party populated with people just like her- angry, uninformed, racist, beyond ignorant White folks who get their news from Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. That’s scary enough, but what should truly terrify every decent American with a functional brain is that these folks have elected Congressmen who reflect their thinking.
I find this video painful to watch. It’s not that the woman being interviewed isn’t particularly bright- she’s not- but that she’s so aggressively and willfully ignorant, racist, and homophobic. That there are millions just like her can’t bode well for the future of our country. Then again, when stupid people elect stupid people, there’s not much of a future to look forward to, is there?
