There’s something very, very wrong with the state of our public discourse when Fox News Channel’s Andrea Tantaros can refer to Hillary Clinton as “That Selfish, Power-Hungry, Insincere, Self-Obsessed Maniac”…and it elicits chuckles. It’s as if Tantaros and the other talking heads at Fox have decided that the standard rules of common decency and respect no longer apply…especially when your last name is Clinton. There’s nothing that Sec. Clinton could do that’s immune from cheap ridicule and laugh lines.
Have we really reached the pointed where vicious, mean-spirited name-calling is simply de riguer, the order of the day and nothing that causes anyone to think that they may have just stepped over a line? Granted, I seriously doubt Hillary Clinton cares a whit about what a sorry excuse for humanity like Andrea Tantaros thinks or says about her. To do otherwise would be to lend an air of legitimacy to Tantaros’ classless trollery.
Then again, I suspect rare has been the occasion when anyone has used “Andrea Tantaros” and “class” in the same sentence. When you can’t defeat Sec. Clinton on the issues with facts and logic, I suppose all you have to work with are cheap personal insults and ridicule. What Tantaros seems not to notice (or care about) is that her obsession with insulting and denigrating Sec. Clinton at every opportunity only makes her look small and petty. Same as she ever was.
