Hillary Clinton: Evil, corrupt, and bad for America...though I can't tell you why

Hillary Clinton has officially announced her presidential campaign. She acts as if she’s entitled to the presidency, but her record of failure shows she can’t be trusted with our safety, security, or economic future.

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m sick to death of (not so very) special interest groups and media organizations demonizing strong, capable women simply because they’re competent and ambitious. The amount of calumny and gender-based hatred directed at Hillary Clinton is truly stunning in its ignorance and smug, self-righteous arrogance. I don’t mind if someone does their research and dislikes Sec. Clinton because of what she stands for. That’s a citizen’s prerogative in a free society…but at least have a basis, a clue as to why you despise her. What I have a problem with is people who proclaim their hatred for Sec. Clinton…even though they don’t know a thing about what she actually stands for (BENGHAZI!!!). It seems so many people have an opinion about her fitness to be President, yet I’d wager that few could intelligently and/or accurately carry on a discussion about her policy positions. What does she stand for? What are her goals? Or have you just unquestioningly swallowed the Right-wing media’s endless drumbeat of disdain and propaganda directed at Sec. Clinton?

I don’t know a thing about For America, nor do I particularly care to. The above quote from their Facebook page is just another example of the unsubstantiated hatred and vilification directed at Sec. Clinton. Why would any serious person think they have anything of substance to add to the public discourse? (BENGHAZI!!!) When your mission can be boiled down to character assassination and the spreading of disinformation, you have nothing of value to offer.

“She acts as if she’s entitled to the presidency?” Really? In what sense? How do you feel that “sense of entitlement” manifests itself? Or is it just the fact that she’s a strong woman with an impressive resume? Is it because she’s walking in a “man’s world” that you feel empowered to toss cheap unverifiable accusations at her? Or is it simply that you can’t speak to the issues she addresses and her policy positions…so all you have in your arsenal are cheap personal insults (BENGHAZI!!!)?

“[H]er record of failure shows she can’t be trusted with our safety, security, or economic future?” And what sorts of “failure” might you be referring to? How has she “failed” America? Or do you not feel the need to provide examples and evidence to back up your assertions? I have no idea what “record of failure” is being referred to (BENGHAZI!!!), but the beautiful thing about a cheap personal attack is that it can be tossed out in to the void with no evidence or verification.

I don’t care if someone chooses not to support Hillary Clinton. If someone thinks she’s the Devil Incarnate, then so be it- but would it be too much to expect that an opinion be supported by facts and evidence, not just emotion (BENGHAZI!!!), hatred, and misogyny? Is it so hard to think for yourself that you just fall in line with the Right-wing propaganda, talking points, and smug, self-satisfied arrogance?

I’d say something about insulting our intelligence, but most voters barely exercise their intelligence anymore. Why should they when there are plenty of outlets on the Far Right ready, willing, and able to tell them how to think (BENGHAZI!!!) and who to hate?
