I long ago accepted that I’ll never get what I want, which is to ban guns altogether. Yes, I’m one of those unabashed “gun-grabbing Liberals” that proudly closed-minded gun control foes allegedly live in mortal fear of. Though I’ve faced reality and given up on my dream, those who value their guns over all else- including human life- refuse to give up their dream of being able to openly carry whatever they want wherever they want. It’s as sad as it is pathetic, especially when one considers that innocent Americans are still dying in senseless mass shootings largely because proudly closed-minded gun control foes refuse to consider anything even faintly redolent of common sense gun control.
When you continue to believe despite all logic to the contrary that MOR GUNZ!!!! is the ONLY thing that keep us safe from criminals, YOU are the problem. I’d ask proudly closed-minded gun control foes how they feel about having blood on their hands, but I already know what their answer would be. It’s either A) Guns don’t kill people, or B)They can’t be held responsible for their choices other people make.
We now live in a country in which the NRA, proudly closed-minded gun control foes, and heartless zealots like Wayne LaPierre and Larry Pratt preside over what’s become a free-fire zone. The gun industry continues to rack up the profits as the mentally ill are granted access to guns with too often predictable results. They’ve turned the 2nd Amendment in to the most willfully misinterpreted and misunderstood 27 words in the English language. They’ve purchased most of Congress. And they’ve created a political environment in which it’s always “too soon” to consider taking action in the wake of yet another mass shooting.
America now has a minimum acceptable level of bloodshed…but as long as proudly closed-minded gun control foes aren’t burying their own, what’s the problem?
