Be it ever so humble....

I’d like to say I’m back at full strength, but jet lag has completely thrown off my sleep cycle, and I’m still trying to clear my head. I woke up in the middle of the night and had NO idea where I was. I had to sit up and look around to realize I was at home and in my own bed. I suspect today won’t be the write-off yesterday was…but my expectations are a bit on the low side.

It’s good to be home, but after being out of the country for two weeks, the re-adjustment process is taking a bit longer than I’d expected. After getting used to navigating in a place where I don’t know the language, the customs, or the lay of the land, being back in a familiar environment feels rather odd. The good news is that it doesn’t appear much has changed…except that Sjón grew in the two weeks we were gone. I barely even recognized him when we walked in the door Thursday night. I was about to say that he’s no longer a kitten…and then he freaked out and jumped on Fred as he’s done since Day One. Some things never change, eh??

We escaped monsoon season in Oslo and returned to beautiful, sunny 75-degree days here in Portland. I think I’ll relax and enjoy it while I can.
