This traveling road show's a little worn out

(11:10 a.m. PDT, 8:10 p.m. in Oslo)

Tonight finds us in Oslo, the last leg of our trip. We’ve got five days here before we fly home on Thursday. Getting here made for a very long day. We could have flown, but we opted to try experience train travel in Norway, so we did just that, subjecting ourselves to an almost seven-hour trip. The Norwegian countryside was beautiful- and we saw a lot of it- but damn, it sure made for a lengthy and exhausting day. By the time we got to the Oslo central train station, got a taxi, and found our apartment, we had barely enough energy left to go out to dinner.

It didn’t help that I misread our train tickets, which caused us to be at the Bergen train station a full 90 minutes before our train was scheduled to leave. I was up at 4:30 to make sure we had everything packed, and our taxi had already been booked to pick us up at 6:15…so yeah, it’s been a long day.

Both of us need a good night’s sleep to get ourselves back into working order. Turns out that doing what we’re doing catches up with you…and neither of us is in our 20s anymore. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. Far from it; we’ve had an amazing trip, and I’ve cherished every moment of the nine days we’ve had. Doing it with Erin has made it exponentially more meaningful, but I think both of us are of a mind where we just want to sleep.

We’ll wake up tomorrow, the world will look a little brighter, and we’ll get busy seeing what we want to see. I have a feeling Oslo will keep us entertained during the time we have here.
