You are not tired of of innocents being cut down in the prime of their lives. You only care that a gun was used and feel nothing for the victims you lying sack of shit. If you truly cared about the victims of violence then lets end the war on drugs and take power away from the gang members that are responsible for 90% of of gun related murders. But you honestly don’t care about that do you because you don’t live near the ghetto and believe that type of violence will never affect you. You only care about the random acts of violence commited by mentally deranged individuals that might affect your precious little existence. These types of shootings only make up a tiny fraction of gun violence. You are nothing but a coward using corpses to justify your own bias against a tool.
Normally, I endeavor to not react or respond to comments on my writing. Very often an angry comment is more a reflection on the commenter than me, and so I try to let lie and speak for itself. In some cases, my readers come to my defense, which, while unnecessary, is certainly comforting and gratifying.
In this case, I thought I’d spotlight the angry screed shown above. It illustrates perfectly why this country will continue to see regular mass shootings until we find it within ourselves to silence and bypass the angry, irrational minority cabal of Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes ©. There’s no hope of having a rational, dispassionate discussion with someone who’s simultaneously irrational and fairly foaming at the mouth.
First of all, to presume the right to tell me how I feel, that I’m not “tired of innocents being cut down in the prime of their lives,” is as offensive as it is absurd. For a Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foe © to tell me that I “only care that a gun was used and feel nothing for the victims you lying sack of shit.” is inaccurate, insulting, and improperly punctuated. As for the “lying sack of shit” appellation, that tells me the commenter has no coherent, supportable argument to offer. Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes © often resort to rage and cheap personal insults when they’re convinced of their own righteousness and rectitude but can’t support that belief with facts. It’s a pathetic approach that displays a lack of moral grounding in their argument, but this is the sort of thing I’ve grown accustomed to. As Churchill once said, one cannot have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
I’ll freely admit that I want to take guns from Americans; I don’t believe that a country which has more guns than people is a healthy or morally sustainable proposition. That said, I know that I’ll never achieve that dream, and so I’m willing to pursue what Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes © refuse to even consider: coming together to find common ground. When negotiation is defined as capitulation, there’s no hope of good people who approach an issue from different perspectives finding anything resembling a solution. The truth is that Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes © have no interest in finding common ground. Their only interest lies in utterly defeating and destroying those who support common sense gun control. They care only about their narrow, self-interested, and dangerously inaccurate (What well-regulated militia do you belong to?) interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. THEIR point of view is the ONLY one that matters, and anyone who dares hold a differing viewpoint is unAmerican and worthy only of destruction.
If you can in all serious tell me that I “only care about the random acts of violence commited by mentally deranged individuals that might affect your precious little existence,” I pity you, because you’re one pathetic excuse for humanity. That I reject your right to even presume you can tell me what I care about should be self-evident; that you feel empowered and emboldened to do so tells me everything I need to know about your sad, pathetic, worthy only of contempt mindset.
I neither know nor care who the commenter is, nor do I have any interest in engaging them in a discussion. If you can in good faith call me a “lying sack of shit,” you’re clearly too far gone to be included in the company of decent, rational human beings, and I pity you. You’re a monster and a sociopath who cares more about “gun rights” than human life, which is about as sad and pathetic as it gets.
