AUSTIN - Hundreds of students at the University of Texas at Austin will protest a new law will allow more guns on campus not with signs or sit-ins, but by “strapping gigantic swinging dildos to our backpacks.”…. Their mantra? #CocksNotGlocks Jessica Jin, who set up the “Campus (DILDO) Carry” event on Facebook, invokes the argument that allowing more guns on campus will make students safe is a fallacy. She’s urging students to send campus leaders that message by strapping on the plastic phalluses….“‘You’re carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO,’” Jin says in the group’s description. “Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play.”…. More than 330 people had signed up to participate by Saturday morning. The “strap in” will occur on Aug. 24, 2016, the first day of next year’s fall semester.
Yep, you know you’re in Texas when students are allowed to carry guns on college campuses, but dildos are verboten….
In a state known for public ignorance, one of the stupidest ideas propagated in the Legislature was that allowing college students, faculty, and staff to carry guns would make EVERYBODY safer. Yes, Virginia, you can openly carry a weapon on the UT campus, but openly carry a sex toy and you’ll be cited. No joke.
Despite intense opposition to the bill signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott, beginning next year students, faculty, and Hell- ANYONE so inclined- will be able to openly carry firearms on the UT campus. The mind fairly shudders at the accidental discharge and friendly fire possibilities, but like most Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes ©, Gov. Abbott feels that an armed society is a polite society.
Some students aren’t taking things lying down (or perhaps they WILL be) and are planning an on-campus protest designed to focus on the absurdity of introducing vast amounts of firepower onto a college campus home to several thousands of students, faculty, and staff.
“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms,” said Jin, “however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence. You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis.”
The Chronicle said, “At two public forums held in the last month, dozens of UT-Austin students, faculty and staff spoke against the law, urging President Greg Fenves to severely limit campus carry at the flagship. Last week, a professor emeritus in the school’s economic department announced he would be giving up teaching over concerns about his personal safety.”
Given this is Texas we’re talking about, Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes © are NOT impressed with Jin’s protest and have given vent to their considerable righteous outrage, albeit in ways that don’t reflect well on their intellectual capacity.
Jin’s private contact information has been made available online — a trolling practice called “doxxing” — and the Facebook wall has been host to statements like this from Ron Cox of Oxford, Mississippi: “I’m guessing that the organizer of this event is a huge slut. Should be funny to watch!”
“I’ve seen most of you trolls tromping around campus. If you took as much time taking care of yourselves as you do trying to make meaningless political statements, you may not need the dildos and could actually have a real, living penis waiting for you at home!” said user “Willie Nelson.”

Meaningless political statements? So, if someone happens not to agree with your devotion to Gun uber Alles © view of the world, you’re free to debunk them…not with logic but cheap personal insults? “Liberal dipshit?” That’s the best argument you’ve got?? Nice work, people; you’ve just demonstrated exactly why people like you shouldn’t be allowed to carry guns- on campus or anywhere else. If you can’t discuss the issue rationally, without resorting to cheap personal (and racist) insults- which clearly appears to be far beyond your meager abilities- how is it you can claim to have the maturity and mental agility to safely carry a firearm in a public area? I know I do; it demonstrates that they’ve no factual argument to make, that it’s really all just about an inhuman devotion to guns. It’s about a mindset that values firepower over human life and completely ignores the first 13 words of the 2nd Amendment even as they hold fast to the last 14 as if their lives depended on it. More than anything, it’s about an inhuman, unnatural devotion to the belief that the only thing that can solve this country’s gun violence problems is…you guessed it…”MOR GUNZ!!!” If you don’t believe that and are willing to voice your conviction in a public manner, you’d best be prepared to be buried in an instalanche of hatred and vile insults.
This is what happens when a group is unable to debate an issue on the facts…and Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes have proven themselves collectively unable to have a reasonable, rational, fact-based discussion…or at least one that doesn’t quickly devolve into screaming, name-calling, and cheap personal insults and racism.
Those of us who believe in common sense gun control are willing to sit down with those on the other side and discuss how the “common sense” part of that equation might be achieved. Unfortunately, a small and intensely vocal and vitriolic minority of Proudly Closed-minded Gun Control Foes © equate compromise with capitulation. ANYTHING that smacks of reaching common ground is merely one step closer to LIBRUL GUN GRABBERS TAKING OUR GUNZ!!!
If you see nothing wrong with openly carrying firearms on a college campus, yet the idea of openly carrying sex toys offends your tender moral sensibilities, I’d submit that you need to stop what you’re doing and search for your lost humanity. If you can’t discuss guns rationally and with the recognition that those who don’t believe as you don’t can be every bit the patriotic, freedom-loving Americans you’ve convinced yourself you are, you don’t deserve to be included in the discussion.
Then again, it can be highly entertaining when y’all decide to vent your spleen in public. I’d say a little self-awareness goes a long way…but I doubt you’d be able to see that in the spirit it’s offered. Evidently y’all have NO problem with displaying your ignorance, irrationality, and considerable capacity for rage and hatred for all to see.
